back in 1975 my friend and I camped at the top of pacaya . It erupted in front of us almost killed us.

I just discovered your site and look forward to viewing (sharing) many more of your adventures. My wife and I (we’re 58) were in Central America 1.5 years ago and climbed the volcano, but during bright daylight (less contrast of the lava). One person put his walking stick in the ground and it caught on fire. Others who did not wear long pants suffered severe lacerations if they fell. Did you read the warning sign, only after climbing cautioning you not to continue due to poisonous gases? LOL
